2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift Spotted Undisguised Ahead of February 20 Launch

The 2026 Tata Punch EV Facelift Spotted on Indian roads without any camouflage, revealing the full extent of its exterior updates ahead of its market launch scheduled for February 20. The sighting follows a partial official preview last week, where Tata had only showcased the updated front-end design.

These latest images provide a clearer look at the changes Tata has made to its entry-level electric SUV, which is expected to receive visual updates while retaining its existing electric powertrain options.

At the front, the Punch EV facelift gets a redesigned bumper that removes the black trim and air intake elements connecting the headlamp units on the current model. This results in a cleaner and more upright appearance. The lower air dam and skid plate have also been revised, though the overall silhouette remains familiar.

The Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps and the centrally positioned charging flap continue unchanged from the outgoing version. From the side, the facelifted Punch EV looks largely identical, although Tata may introduce new aero-optimised alloy wheel designs on select variants.

The test vehicle spotted was finished in the existing Fearless Red dual-tone paint scheme with a black roof. However, Tata has officially confirmed that the facelifted Punch EV will also be offered in new brown and bright yellow exterior colour options.

At the rear, the most notable update is the addition of a full-width LED light bar, similar to the one seen on the ICE-powered Punch facelift launched earlier this year. The rear bumper design also mirrors the petrol-powered version.

Battery and motor options unchanged

Mechanically, the Punch EV facelift is expected to remain unchanged. It will continue to be offered with two battery pack options: a 25kWh unit and a larger 35kWh unit, both paired with a front-mounted electric motor.

The 25kWh version produces 82hp and 114Nm of torque and carries an ARAI-rated range of 265km. The 35kWh variant delivers higher outputs of 122hp and 190Nm, with a claimed range of 365km. While Tata has not confirmed revised range figures, minor changes cannot be ruled out due to updates or recalibration.

Currently, the Tata Punch EV is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). With the facelift introducing updated styling and likely additional features, prices are expected to increase marginally over the outgoing model.

Once launched, the Punch EV facelift will continue to compete primarily with the Citroen eC3 in the affordable electric car segment.

What this means for buyers

For buyers considering an entry-level electric SUV, the facelifted Punch EV offers refreshed styling without altering its core strengths, including range options and performance. Those planning a purchase may want to wait for the updated model, especially given the imminent launch.

More details on variant-wise features and final pricing are expected closer to the February 20 launch, when Tata Motors officially introduces the updated Punch EV to the Indian market.
