Skoda Kushaq Facelift Production: Skoda Auto India has officially commenced production of the updated Kushaq facelift at its Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. The announcement comes a few weeks after the SUV was unveiled in January.
While the company has already revealed pricing details, it has now confirmed that customer deliveries will begin in March, with bookings currently open across dealerships.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift Production at Skoda’s Chakan Plant
The Kushaq facelift continues to be manufactured at the Chakan plant, which serves as Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s primary production hub. Spread across 576 acres, the facility is around 70 percent automated and houses more than 325 robots.
Apart from the Kushaq, the plant also produces models such as the Slavia, Kylaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus.
Chakan played a key role in Skoda and Volkswagen’s India strategy after the introduction of the MQB A0 IN platform, developed specifically for local conditions. The platform underpins several mid-size SUVs and sedans and has helped both brands strengthen their presence in the Indian market.
What’s New in the 2026 Kushaq Facelift
The Kushaq has been on sale in India since 2021, and the facelift marks its first major update in four years. The most visible changes are on the outside. The SUV now gets a revised front fascia with a larger grille, an illuminated light band and updated LED lighting elements, including sequential turn indicators.
Wheel options vary by variant, with lower trims featuring 16-inch silver alloy wheels, while higher variants get 17-inch alloys. At the rear, the facelift introduces connected LED tail lamps and illuminated Skoda lettering, features that are available from the Signature trim onwards.
Cabin Updates and New Features
Inside, Skoda has introduced new trim finishes and an updated colour scheme. One of the headline additions is a panoramic sunroof, along with a rear seat massage function, which Skoda claims is a first in the mid-size SUV segment.
The updated feature list also includes a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-colour ambient lighting, front parking sensors and ventilated electric front seats.
Other highlights include cruise control, a wireless charger, a cooled glove box and a rear-view camera.
Powertrain Changes
Mechanically, the Kushaq facelift remains largely unchanged, but there are important updates to the transmission options. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm, now comes with an 8-speed Aisin automatic gearbox.
The earlier 6-speed torque converter automatic has been discontinued, though the manual option continues.
The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which develops 148 bhp and 250 Nm, will now be offered exclusively with a 7-speed DSG automatic. The manual gearbox option for this engine has been phased out.

With Skoda Kushaq Facelift Production underway and deliveries starting soon, the Kushaq facelift strengthens Skoda’s position in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
