Yamaha XSR155 Metallic Black With Neo-Retro Styling

The Metallic Black finish gives the XSR155 a darker visual theme, complemented by gold upside-down front forks. The contrast between the black bodywork and the suspension components highlights the bike’s neo-retro design language.
The motorcycle retains its sculpted fuel tank, minimalistic body panels and classic-inspired styling elements that form the core of the XSR series. Yamaha’s XSR line is positioned as a blend of retro aesthetics and modern engineering, targeting riders looking for a distinctive design with contemporary performance.
Yamaha XSR155 Metallic Black Engine & Performance
Powering the XSR155 is a 155 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine equipped with Yamaha Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. The engine produces 18.4 PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and features an assist and slipper clutch. These components are intended to improve gear shifts and reduce rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.
Chassis and Hardware

The XSR155 is built around Yamaha’s Deltabox frame, a structure widely used in several of the company’s performance-oriented motorcycles. The bike has a kerb weight of 137 kg, making it relatively lightweight in its class.
Suspension duties are handled by upside-down front forks and a linked-type monocross rear suspension, while an aluminium swingarm is used at the rear.
In terms of dimensions, the motorcycle measures 2,005 mm in length, 805 mm in width and 1,080 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,325 mm. The seat height stands at 810 mm, while ground clearance is rated at 170 mm. The bike also features a 10-litre fuel tank and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Yamaha XSR155 Metallic Black Safety & Features
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends supported by dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle is also equipped with traction control, a feature that remains uncommon in many motorcycles in this segment.
Since its introduction in India in November last year, the XSR155 has been positioned as a motorcycle aimed at riders seeking retro styling combined with modern features and performance.
Official Statement

Commenting on the new colour addition, Hajime Aota, Chairman of the Yamaha Motor India Group, said the introduction of the Metallic Black variant is intended to strengthen the brand’s connection with riders looking for individuality and distinctive styling.
What It Means for Buyers
For potential buyers, the update does not introduce any mechanical or feature changes. Instead, it provides an additional aesthetic option for customers interested in the XSR155’s retro-inspired design and lightweight performance package.
With the addition of Yamaha XSR155 Metallic Black, Yamaha has expanded the model’s visual choices while retaining the existing specifications and price positioning in the entry-level performance motorcycle segment.
The new colour variant is expected to reach Yamaha dealerships across India alongside the existing versions of the XSR155 in the coming weeks.
